Terry... I do understand the limitations of the early selection of sites, the physical limitations of public venues, and the cost factor. I would suggest, however, that there are some also low cost options to incrementally improve the situation. For…
We hear you, Johnnie. We would like all of those things, too. We are pretty happy that there is free wireless in the public spaces and session rooms, which is a first for us.
However, until 2017, we are locked into conference contracts with convent…
Is there anyone else out there who is disappointed with the technology and connectivity challenges of this venue? With this group of highly connected and technologically competent people, to not have access to power and the internet in the session r…
Welcome to the SCUP-44 Network, a temporary virtual space in support of "Values and Vision, Create the Future."
This is a temporary network, and one of its purposes is to induce SCUPers who may not engage on social media to "dip their toe" in a network that is friendly and temporary. Thanks for joining.
SCUP's network runs on a Ning platform, which means that the network is a self-contained collegial (social) network that provides much of the same kind of functionality that you would find on Facebook or LinkedIn.
As a registered member (membership is free) you automatically received your own page in the network, on or through which you are free to share videos or photographs, communicate with other members of the network, post blog entries, engage in Forum discussions, and a host of other things. We hope you do. Much of the value of such a network is in its members and what they choose to share.
With regard to commercial activity in this network, please read this statement- http://www.scup.org/page/membership/culture - about SCUP's Membership Culture, which also apples in this network.
You may use your own page for things like a list of services provided, links to your company website, and so forth. However, when engaging with the network in ways where your actions show up elsewhere in the network (possibilities include blog posts, "wall" comments, Forum posts, sharing of photos and videos, and a whole lot more), please ensure that such actions are clearly the sharing of useful knowledge and information - not commercial messages or advertisements.
Please address queries about the website functionality me, terry.calhoun@scup.org, using email or by using the network's built-in messaging capability. My page is here: http://www.createthefuture.info/profile/TerryCalhoun.
